The Final Countdown

(THE SCENE: After a nice yom tov in Silver Spring, Dina, Joe and her mother, Mrs. White are stuffing envelopes to send out the invitations)

Mrs. White: So, the big day is approaching, are you getting nervous.
Joe: No, not really. Why...Should I be?
Mrs. White: Well, when my husband and I got married...(voice trails off) He actually asked me to marry him during the break on Yom Kippur
Joe: See Dina, and you got a ring, if only we had been born a generation ago.
Dina: Don't push your luck. (A long slender finger points disapprovingly at Joe's face)
Mrs. White: We were so young, we really didn't know what we were getting into...
Joe: This is supposed to make me feel better or nervous?
Dina: Please, he's been pining after me for years, he's lucky I even came around...
Joe: Sure, honey, whatever you say...
